This is a
legend and was really cutting edge when it appeared . The layout mixed with the slightly
risqué artwork proved to be a real hit with gamers right from its initial release . Style
is everything in this near-future RPG , where life on the street is tough and the mighty
multi-billion Corporations control everything . The rules cover past events that
contributed to the characters current status in the form of a lifepath starting from age
16 . As with most RPGs each player has a character class , in this game you have Solos
(combat specialists) , Rockers (Entertainer) , Techie (Electronics/Mechanical Specialist)
, Netrunners (Computer Whizzes) , Cops (Police) & Medtechs (Doctors) . The system is
based around the D10 where you add an Attribute to a skill to a roll of a D10 . The higher
the total the better the result . . This is a game that has not really changed over the
years to any degree - because it doesn`t need to . It`s a well developed & well
supported game . Lots of add ons have come out for this system including Night City
Sourcebook (A city setting in America for the game), Chrome Books I,II,III,IV (basically a
set of equipment guides to rig out your characters) & Euro Sourcebook (all about
European Cyber characters.)
