A recent
release that originally saw light as a Collectable Card Game . It`s a mixture of pirates ,
musketeers and general 17th Century derring-do . The setting is fictional , but don`t let
that put you off as it has its roots firmly in European history . The system is simple and
the emphasis is on roleplaying rather than rules , which is good . The two initial rules
books are the Games Masters Guide & The Players Guide/Core Rules book . Both are
currently supplied as hardbacked books with high quality artwork on both the covers and
inside . They are truly lovely things to own . As a bonus ,from March 2000 ,if you log
onto the alderac web site ( www.alderac.com ) you
will be able to download the Companion Rulesbook from it free of charge . The sourcebooks
and adventure material are all high quality again , if a bit linear . The Pirate Nations ,
Screen (Fantastic Artwork) & Montaigne Sourcebook deserve a mention . Rather good all
round , and this type of game hasn't been properly available since Lace & Steel or
Privateers & Gentlemen. www.alderac.com www.7thsea.com |
